What is RHCE?

RHCE = Red Hat Certified Engineer
Launched in 1999, RHCE is like the Gold Standard Certification program for molding strong Linux Administrators. RHCE certification is one of the most respected IT certification programs worldwide. The skills are tested on a performance-based evaluation and certification directly by Redhat. Professionals holding this certification have continually helped their companies with successful deployments and migrations.
Prerequisites of RHCE:
An RHCE is able to perform the following tasks (in addition to tasks associated with RHCSA):
Configuration of static routes, packet filtering, and network address translation
Setting kernel runtime parameters
Building simple RPMs
Configuring an iSCSI initiator
Producing and delivering reports on system utilization
Using shell scripting to automate system maintenance tasks
Configuring system logging, including remote logging
Configuring a system to provide networking services, including HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, NFS, SMB, SMTP, SSH, and NTP

The Basic RHCE Certification Hierarchy goes like this:
There are 2 exams under RHEL 6
· RHCSA (RH 124 & RH 135)
EX 200- RHCSA Certification Exam
and
· RHCE(RH 254)
Ex 300-RHCE exam
In order to earn RHCE, one should pass the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCSA) exam. One is eligible to take the RHCE exam without first having passed the RHCSA exam, but RHCE will not be issued until both credentials are earned by a candidate
